FM Badr Abdelatty in his meeting with Egypt nominee for the UNESCO's director-general Dr Khaled El-Enany
The meeting addressed the developments in Egypt's nomination campaign, which has garnered the support of both the Arab League Summit and the African Union, according to a statement by the ministry of foreign affairs.
FM Abdelatty reiterated the importance of this significant nomination, given UNESCO’s pivotal role in preserving global cultural and natural heritage and promoting science, technology, and culture, especially in light of Egypt's distinguished historical relations with the organization.
Abdelatty also directed all relevant sectors of the foreign ministry and Egypt's diplomatic missions abroad to provide full support and assistance to the Egyptian candidate.
This includes organizing intensive international tours for Dr. El-Enany as part of the campaign to meet with senior officials of UNESCO member states, in coordination with Egyptian embassies abroad.
The foreign ministry added the meeting provided an opportunity to review the strategy for El-Enany's nomination campaign.
Minister Abdelatty ensured the follow-up on various elements of the campaign's plan, including political, technical, logistical, and administrative aspects.
