According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, the call addressed the recent serious developments in the region and the risks of escalating tensions that could lead to widespread confrontations threatening the region's stability and people.

In this context, Abdelatty informed the UN envoy about his communications with various international and regional parties to contain the situation and reduce tensions.

He also emphasized the need for international efforts, particularly those of the UN and influential global powers, to work towards ending the ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and alleviating the humanitarian suffering of the Palestinian people in the area.

In addition, Abdelatty explained that the continued crisis in Gaza further complicates the regional situation and that Israel must stop its escalation policies, assassinations, and violations of the sovereignty of regional countries, regardless of the justifications.

For his part, Wennesland conveyed the deep concern of the United Nations and the Secretary-General over the increasing regional tensions.

He thanked Egypt for its efforts to resolve the Gaza crisis and manage its humanitarian and security repercussions, thus preventing the conflict from expanding in a way that threatens regional stability.

In conclusion, both sides agreed to continue consultations and exchange assessments in the coming period.
