The meeting will tackle the latest developments in the region in light of the military escalation between the Lebanese Hezbollah group and Israel.
Hezbollah has vowed to retaliate against Israel's high-profile killing of Hezbollah's top military commander Fouad Shukur in a strike in south Beirut on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, Iran, which backs Hezbollah, has also vowed to retaliate against Tel Aviv after the assassination of Hamas Political Bureau chief Ismail Haniyeh in the Iranian capital of Tehran — also late on Wednesday.
Egypt has condemned the recent serious Israeli escalations in the Middle East, warning that violations of national sovereignty increased tensions and conflict in the region.
According to MENA, Tuesday’s meeting will address Egypt's support for Lebanon in the face of current threats.
With tensions rising in the region and fear of a wider Middle East conflict, several countries including the United States, Britain, and France have called on their citizens to leave Lebanon.
In addition, several international airlines have cancelled or delayed flights to and from Israel and Lebanon amid expectations of Hezbollah’s retaliation.
On Saturday, FM Abdelatty expressed Cairo's support and solidarity with Lebanon in a phone call with Bou Habib amid these surrounding threats.
During the call, Egypt’s top diplomat expressed his profound concern over the dangerously escalating regional tensions, affirming his country’s intensive communications with all concerned parties to contain the situation in the region and safeguard the interests of the Lebanese people.
In another call with Iran’s Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani on Saturday, FM Abdelatty stressed the need for all parties to exercise calm and restraint to prevent the situation from spiralling out of control.
Abdelatty reaffirmed to Bagheri Cairo's opposition to Israel's escalatory policies, assassinations, and violations of national sovereignty.
He added that Tel Aviv's actions do not benefit any party and would only exacerbate the crisis, making it more difficult to contain.
The Egyptian top diplomat underscored Cairo's call for an end to the war on Gaza, being the primary cause of increased tension and conflict in the region.
The Israeli war on Gaza has killed and wounded more than 120,000 Palestinians, mostly women and children, since 7 October.
