According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty informed his American counterpart about his communications with the foreign ministers of several regional countries, including  Iran and Lebanon, as well as his contacts with the foreign ministers of several European countries.

These efforts aim to contain the ongoing escalation in the region, triggered by Israeli assassination policies, which have resulted in tensions and reactions that could lead to uncontrolled security situations and unprecedented conflict expansion.

The Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity for all parties to exercise restraint to avoid instability in the region, which threatens the interests of its people.

He urged his American counterpart to pressure Israel to engage seriously and with genuine political will in ceasefire negotiations in Gaza.

The call also addressed the status of ceasefire negotiations and the joint Egyptian, Qatari, and American efforts in this regard.
