Cairo described the Israeli aggression against civilians in the West Bank as a clear and systematic violation of international law, international humanitarian law, and the Geneva Conventions regarding protecting persons living under occupation.

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs viewed these attacks as a continuation of Israel's policy of escalation and expansion of confrontations within the Palestinian territories.

Egypt called for a unified and effective international stance to protect the Palestinian people, emphasizing the need to end the targeting of unarmed civilians, the imposition of restrictions, and the seizure of private property.

The ministry also warned of the grave risks associated with the ongoing Israeli operations, expressing concern over the deliberate targeting of Palestinian civilians.

Furthermore, the statement highlighted that these operations coincide with the Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip and violations of Islamic and Christian holy sites in East Jerusalem.

Egypt affirmed that these attacks further complicate the situation and indicate the Israeli insistence on escalation and the absence of Israeli political will to reduce tensions.

Earlier Wednesday, the Israeli army targeted four cities in the West Bank, Jenin, Nablus, Tubas, and Tulkarem, launching a major new assault alongside its 10-month-old war on Gaza.

The assault, which involved air strikes, ground forces, and bulldozers, killed at least 10 Palestinians and wounded 15 others.

The latest operation came two days after Israel declared carrying out an air strike on the West Bank that killed five people.

Violence in the West Bank has surged alongside the war in Gaza, with more than 640 Palestinians killed by Israeli troops and settlers since 7 October, according to the Palestinian health ministry figures.

According to the Palestinian Commission of Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs and the Palestinian Prisoners' Society (PPS), Israel has detained over 10,000 Palestinians from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, since the beginning of the war on Gaza.
