According to a statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry, FMs Abdelatty and Marsudi agreed on condemning the current Israeli practices and violations in Gaza and the West Bank, and recent Israeli provocative actions, including the recent announcement of plans to build a synagogue in Al-Aqsa Mosque Complex.
The two top diplomats also agreed on the importance of coordinating within the framework of the committee mandated by the Extraordinary Arab Islamic Summit and continuing efforts to end hostilities and alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
Economic cooperation
FM Abdelatty praised the current levels of trade exchange between the two countries, which has surpassed one billion dollars annually.
He expressed a desire to increase economic and investment cooperation, urging Indonesian companies to take advantage of the promising investment opportunities in the Egyptian economy.
The two top diplomats agreed to boost tourism exchange between Egypt and Indonesia, leveraging the direct flight route established between Cairo and Jakarta last year.
The ministers also discussed global financial system issues, given Indonesia's active membership in the G20.
They stressed the importance of reforming the global financial system and global governance to address geopolitical crises and sustainable development priorities.
The Egyptian FM expressed Egypt's eagerness to convene the Joint Ministerial Committee, co-chaired by the foreign ministers of both countries, in Cairo at the earliest opportunity.
