In separate meetings in Cairo with the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson, Syrian FM Faisal Mekdad, and Sudanese FM Hussein Awad, FM Abdelatty noted that Egypt is dealing with unusual crises from all geographic and strategic directions, according to a statement by the Egyptian foreign ministry.

FM Abdelatty affirmed to the EU Commissioner for Home Affairs Ylva Johansson that Egypt is dealing with crises on its eastern, western, and southern borders.
During a meeting, the Egyptian top diplomat credited the strength of Egypt's institutions for enabling it to confront various crises in neighbouring countries.
He further noted that these challenges impose significant responsibilities on the Egyptian state, which, without the strength of its institutions, would have struggled to address these crises with such effectiveness.
In addition, the Egyptian FM highlighted Cairo's intensive efforts to combat irregular immigration and dismantle organized crime organizations that exploit migrants.
For her part, the EU official expressed her appreciation of Egypt's efforts in combating irregular immigration, reaffirming the EU's commitment to working with Egypt to address this issue.
Syrian FM
During a meeting with his Syrian counterpart Faisal Mekdad, FM Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's supportive position towards Syria amid the current challenges it faces, emphasizing Cairo's rejection of foreign interference in Syrian affairs.
He stressed the need to respect Syria's sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity, underscoring the importance of finding a political solution to the Syrian crisis in line with relevant international resolutions.
Abdelatty also expressed Egypt's keenness to resume coordination and cooperation with Syria within the framework of the Arab League.
He highlighted the significance of reactivating the Arab Liaison Committee on Syria to help the country overcome its challenges and secure the well-being of its people.
The discussion also tackled the crisis in Gaza, where Abdelatty emphasized the need to reach a ceasefire, end Israeli aggression against Palestinians, and prevent the conflict from spreading further.
For his part, the Syrian FM conveyed President Bashar Al-Assad's greetings and appreciation to President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi, commending Egypt's significant role in hosting Syrian citizens and treating them respectfully.
Sudanese FM
FM Abdelatty outlined to his Sudanese counterpart Hussein Awad Egypt's participation in the Geneva meetings on Sudan and its assessment of efforts to resolve the Sudanese crisis.
He stressed Egypt's commitment to supporting Sudan's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, emphasizing Cairo's efforts to facilitate conditions for Sudanese citizens in Egypt until the crisis is resolved.
During the meeting, Abdelatty listened to FM Awad's assessment of international and regional efforts aimed at resolving the crisis.
For his part, the Sudanese FM expressed his country's appreciation for Egypt's humanitarian and political efforts to host Sudanese citizens and solve the current crisis.
