"The Arab Republic of Egypt also renews its warning that this unjustified Israeli escalation puts the region at a dangerous crossroads, with catastrophic consequences for destabilizing the region and its descent into a comprehensive regional war," read a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"No country in the region will be immune from the repercussions of such war," added the statement.
The foreign ministry statement condemned "all unilateral actions, targeting of civilians and violations of international humanitarian law.|
"Egypt reaffirms the necessity of an immediate ceasefire in the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank as the main cause of rising tensions in the Middle East," added the statement.
