Egypt expresses condolences to Iran over deadly coal mine explosion

Egypt has expressed sincere condolences over a deadly coal mine explosion in Iran's South Khorasan Province that claimed the lives of at least 31 people and injured 16 others.

In a statement released on Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered sincere condolences to the Iranian government and people, as well as to the families of the victims.

The ministry also wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Iranian state media reported that a methane gas explosion had occurred in two blocks of the privately owned mine on Sunday, leading to the tragic incident.

Local media reports put the number of deaths at 51.
