The flight is scheduled to depart from Beirut-Rafic Hariri International Airport to Cairo on Saturday 5 October 2024.
The embassy's announcement came following its ongoing communication with citizens who wish to return home by registering their data with the embassy.
In an official statement, the embassy urged citizens who need temporary travel documents to begin processing them in preparation for upcoming flights, which will be announced later.
Additionally, Egyptian citizens who have not yet registered with the embassy and wish to return home are strongly encouraged to do so as soon as possible.
To register, citizens must send a message containing their full name, a copy of their passport or national ID, their Lebanese residence permit, and contact details through the embassy's official page on Facebook or email ([email protected]).
The step comes within the Egyptian government’s ongoing efforts to assist its citizens amid the increasing security challenges in Lebanon due to the intensive Israeli airstrikes across the country.
On Tuesday, Egypt's ambassador in Beirut Alaa Moussa said that the Egyptian embassy has not recorded any casualties among its citizens in Lebanon due to the Israeli aggression.
Moreover, Egypt has urged its citizens to avoid travelling to Lebanon "unless absolutely necessary," calling on citizens currently residing in Lebanon to exercise the utmost caution and avoid conflict areas.
In addition, EgyptAir, the country's national carrier, along with several international airlines have suspended their flights to and from the country until the situation in Lebanon stabilizes.
