This came during a bilateral meeting between the two leaders at Al-Ittihadiya Palace in Cairo on Tuesday evening, followed by a broader session of talks that included Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and delegations from both countries, according to the presidency statement.

El-Sisi and bin Salman discussed the latest regional developments, focusing on the situations in Gaza and Lebanon, where they agreed on the gravity of the regional issues and the need to de-escalate tensions.

They highlighted that establishing a sovereign Palestinian state, under international legitimacy resolutions, is the only path to achieving lasting calm, peace, and security in the region.

Both leaders also noted that any attempts to liquidate the Palestinian cause would only perpetuate the ongoing conflict in the region.

They further stressed the necessity of respecting Lebanon's sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity.

Moreover, the Egyptian president and the Saudi Crown Prince discussed several regional issues, primarily focusing on the security of the Red Sea region and the situations in Sudan, Libya, and Syria.

During the meeting, El-Sisi conveyed to bin Salman the significance and depth of the strategic relations between Egypt and Saudi Arabia amid the threats in the region.

The Egyptian president stressed the necessity of ongoing coordination and cooperation to address the current watershed phase that our region and the Islamic world are enduring.

Furthermore, El-Sisi highlighted the mutual commitment to reinforce the historical relations and ties between the two countries by strengthening bilateral institutional mechanisms.

The two leaders inked the establishment of the Egyptian-Saudi Supreme Coordination Council and an agreement to promote and protect reciprocal investments between the two countries.

In mid-September, the Saudi Crown Prince announced during his meeting with the Egyptian prime minister in Riyadh that the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF) will invest $5 billion in Egypt as part of an initial phase, according to the Egyptian cabinet.

Egypt is a key strategic partner for Saudi Arabia, with trade between the two countries surpassing $124 billion in 2022 and 2023, as stated by Saudi Investment Minister Khaled Al-Falih.

The meeting also tackled the ongoing efforts to enhance the Egyptian-Saudi economic partnership, focusing on investment exchange, trade between the two countries, and economic integration in energy, transportation, and tourism.

For his part, bin Salman reaffirmed the Kingdom's commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and building on the longstanding historical ties between the two countries and their peoples.
