President El-Sisi made his remarks in a meeting with Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi in Cairo.
Egypt's Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty also attended the meeting, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.
During the meeting, El-Sisi stressed "the importance of continuing and intensifying international efforts to secure a ceasefire in Gaza and Lebanon, stop violations and aggression in the West Bank," and provide urgent and sufficient humanitarian aid to alleviate the civilians' suffering.
For his part, Araghchi expressed appreciation for Egypt's ongoing efforts to promote stability and security in the region, commending Cairo's role in this regard across all fronts.
He also conveyed Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian’s greetings and appreciation to President El-Sisi.
Moreover, both sides agreed on the importance of maintaining the current path to explore opportunities for developing relations between the two countries.
Araghchi's visit comes as Israel continues its strikes on both Gaza and Lebanon and threatens to attack Tehran, in response to Iran's barrage of 180 missiles fired at the country earlier in October.
This visit is the first by a high-ranking Iranian official to the Egyptian capital in over a decade.
FM Abdelatty is set to meet with counterpart Araghchi for a private discussion at Tahrir Palace before broader talks with both delegations, an Egyptian diplomatic source reported.
In September, the two diplomats met in New York during the UN General Assembly and had several phone calls since the appointment of Araghchi as the new Iranian foreign minister.
Egyptian-Iranian relations have seen significant improvement in recent years after decades of strained ties since the Islamic Revolution in Iran and Egypt's peace treaty with Israel in 1979.
In 2023, diplomatic efforts were reinvigorated, leading to a series of high-level meetings, signalling both nations' intent to normalize relations, especially after the Israeli war in Gaza began.
Cairo is Araghchi’s second stop on his regional tour, following Amman, before he heads to Turkey.
The Iranian foreign minister also visited Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Iraq, and Oman last week in efforts to reduce regional tensions.
