El-Sisi said Spain's positive stance is reflected in the ongoing coordination between the leaderships of both countries and their common vision to achieve regional peace, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.
During the meeting, both sides discussed the latest regional developments, stressing the importance of intensifying international efforts to stop the ongoing escalation in the Middle East.
They also emphasized the need to reach comprehensive calm in Gaza and Lebanon to prevent the continuous deterioration of the humanitarian situation and pave the way for achieving peace based on the two-state solution.
For his part, the Spanish FM conveyed Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez's greetings and appreciation to President El-Sisi, affirming Spain's full support for Cairo's tireless efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip.
He also commended Egypt's ongoing efforts to ease humanitarian aid access to the strip, prevent the expansion of regional conflict, and establish peace and stability.
Egypt-Spain ties
According to the statement, the meeting also touched on the Egyptian-Spanish distinguished ties, exploring ways to push them to broader horizons, especially in economy and investment.
Meanwhile, Spain's top diplomat emphasized his country's keenness to boost its participation in the development process witnessed by Egypt in many sectors, including manufacturing, agriculture, and transportation.
On Wednesday, Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty met with Albares, and they discussed the latest regional developments and the Israeli escalation in the Middle East.
