The shipment arrived at Beirut Airport on Wednesday to support Lebanon as it faces a five-week-long brutal Israeli aggression that killed hundreds, wounded thousands, and turned more than 1.2 million into refugees.
According to EgyptAir, flight MS 1711 departed from Cairo International Airport at 2:30 PM, carrying 23 tons of humanitarian aid and medical supplies provided by the Egyptian Red Crescent and the Ministry of Health.
Egypt’s Ambassador to Lebanon Alaa Moussa received the shipment alongside representatives from the Lebanese government and the President of the Lebanese Relief Council.
The Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that Egypt has sent 67 tons of relief aid to Lebanon thus far.
The ministry added that flight MS 1711 departed from Beirut Airport at 5:15 PM bringing back 293 Egyptian nationals, bringing the number of Egyptians evacuated by EgyptAir special flights from Lebanon to 883.
Furthermore, the ministry noted that the embassy continues to receive requests from Egyptians seeking to return home, with plans to include them in future flights.
