El-Sisi and Nigerian President Bola Tinubu explored means to strengthen Egyptian-Nigerian economic cooperation in a meeting on Tuesday on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in Brazil.
The discussions focused on cooperation in trade, investment, healthcare, and exchanging expertise in counterterrorism and extremism, according to a statement by the Egyptian presidency.
El-Sisi and Tinubu also addressed the peace and security situation in Africa and ways to reinforce the foundations of continental peace and stability, while protecting the security, sovereignty, and independence of African nations.
They further highlighted the importance of increasing collaboration within the framework of the African Union to promote the continent’s development, prosperity, and the achievement of the 2063 Agenda.
Additionally, in a meeting with Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, El-Sisi discussed ways to develop bilateral cooperation between both nations.
The two leaders expressed hope that the upcoming period will see further development, including an increase in economic cooperation, heightened investments, and the activation of bilateral dialogue mechanisms at various levels.
They also discussed avenues to enhance cultural ties between Egypt and Singapore, with a particular emphasis on the student exchange programs, the statement noted.
This includes scholarships offered by Al-Azhar University for Singaporean students, as well as opportunities for Egyptian students through Singapore’s educational institutions, as stated by the Egyptian presidency.
