According to a statement by the Egyptian presidency, El-Sisi specified that these sectors include industry, sustainable energy, communications, digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and transportation.
The meeting also touched upon Egypt's development efforts, including infrastructure, industry, and agriculture projects, and the significant investment opportunities these projects present.
The statement added that Brende praised Egypt's strides in economic reform and investment attraction and noted the WEF's interest in showcasing Egypt's successful initiatives in these areas.
Over the past two years, the Egyptian government has taken measures to reduce state involvement in various sectors, including renewables and transportation, as part of the State Ownership Policy Document, approved by El-Sisi in late 2022.
Per the document, Egypt seeks to increase the private sector's contribution to the country's economic activities to 65 percent within a couple of years.
Gaza, Lebanon
The Egyptian presidency also stated that El-Sisi and Brende discussed the latest regional developments.
El-Sisi reviewed his vision for achieving peace and stability in the Middle East, underlining the adverse effects of Israel's ongoing war in the Gaza Strip and Lebanon.
He also spotlighted the war's associated risks to global economic stability, the statement pointed out.
In addition, the two sides stressed the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire alongside a political process leading to the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.
According to the statement, they also asserted that the Palestinian state is essential for restoring stability and fostering progress in the region.
