According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this was revealed in Abdelatty's telephone call with Tor Wennesland, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process.

During the conversation focused on developments in Gaza and the West Bank, Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's priority to alleviate the suffering in Gaza, noting the organization of the Cairo Ministerial Conference on 2 December, in partnership with the United Nations, to bolster the humanitarian response in Gaza.

The foreign minister expressed his hope that the conference would yield outcomes that significantly ease the catastrophes faced by the Palestinian people in the Gaza Strip.
