The Egyptian delegation included key figures like MP Tarek Radwan, head of the parliament's Human Rights Committee, and MP Abdel-Hadi Al-Qasabi, head of the parliament's Social Solidarity Committee.
The delegation, supported by Egypt’s Ambassador to the EU Ahmed Abu-Zeid, met with European officials, including EU Special Representative for Human Rights Olof Skoog and Director of MENA Affairs at the Belgian Ministry of Foreign Affairs François Cornet d’Elzius.
They also engaged with members of the European Parliament and Belgian legislative bodies to discuss partnerships and ongoing economic initiatives, amounting to over 5 billion euros.
During the visit, the delegation highlighted Egypt's efforts to achieve regional stability, advancements in human rights through the National Strategy for Human Rights, and hosting over 10 million refugees despite economic pressures.
They also emphasized Egypt's commitment to empowering vulnerable groups, advancing women’s rights, and adopting renewable energy initiatives like green hydrogen projects.
Meanwhile, the European counterparts expressed their eagerness for continued collaboration and strategic partnership, underscoring the importance of dialogue and joint efforts to address shared challenges.
