FM Abdelatty made these remarks during an exclusive interview with Extra News in Dublin, where President El-Sisi arrived on Tuesday evening for the final leg of his European tour, which included Denmark and Norway.

During the interview, Abdelatty praised Ireland’s recognition of the Palestinian state and its support for its cause.

El-Sisi will discuss key Middle Eastern issues with high-ranking officials in Ireland, including the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Abdelatty said.

Israel's ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip by land, sea, and air since 7 October 2023 has resulted in the deaths of 44,786 people and left 106,134 others injured.

Moreover, Abdelatty highlighted that El-Sisi’s discussions will focus on the Syrian crisis, reaffirming “Egypt's clear stance in supporting the will of the Syrian people.”

The foreign minister also stressed that Egypt is closely monitoring the daily developments in Syria.

Egypt reaffirmed that this watershed phase in Syria's history demands the unity of all its people to establish a comprehensive political process based on full Syrian national ownership.

Abdelatty noted that President El-Sisi will also discuss the situation in Sudan, Egypt's full support for humanitarian relief efforts, and the opening of humanitarian corridors in his meetings with Irish officials.

Irish investments

According to the foreign minister, El-Sisi's visit will also focus on enhancing economic relations between the two countries and attracting more Irish investments to Egypt.

Abdelatty stressed that investment is a priority on the president's agenda. He also intends to meet with as many representatives of Irish companies operating in Egypt as possible, similar to his engagements in Denmark and Norway.
