The Pakistani prime minister will address the importance of investing in youth and small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to build a strong and inclusive economy by creating jobs, enhancing innovation, and promoting local entrepreneurship.
He will also express Pakistan's strong commitment to the principles of the D-8 Group, highlight the importance of strengthening partnerships for mutual benefit and prosperity, and enhance cooperation in agriculture, food security, and tourism.
Sharif will also highlight the incentives provided by Pakistan to empower youth and financial development.
The Pakistani prime minister will attend the D-8 summit’s special session on the humanitarian crisis and reconstruction challenges in Gaza and Lebanon to discuss the situation resulting from the Israeli aggression in the Middle East.
He will emphasize Pakistan's principled position on the situation in Palestine and call for peace in the Middle East.
Dr Raza Shahid, chargé d'Affaires of the Pakistani embassy in Egypt, said that Egyptian-Pakistani relations are long-standing and distinguished at all levels.
He praised the diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Egypt and joint coordination in all international forums and issues.
Economic and trade relations are also witnessing a great deal of momentum, as the volume of bilateral trade cooperation has seen remarkable progress, amounting to $300 million, of which $190 million is for Egyptian exports and $110 million for Pakistani imports. This comes in light of a common will to create broader areas of cooperation between the two countries.
Shahid stressed Egypt's leading role in the African continent and the region as the gateway to the African continent, as well as its role in enhancing trade and economic cooperation and opening new horizons at the bilateral level and within the framework of multiple relations with the countries of the Middle East and North Africa region.
The two countries are working to strengthen trade relations, find opportunities for trade and investment, sign joint venture agreements in various sectors, and provide opportunities to enhance trade relations and identify potential cooperation in multiple fields.
Shahid added that the Pakistani government aims to strengthen relations with Egypt and all countries of the D-8 Group, adding that Pakistan, with its population of about 250 million, is a lucrative investment market.
Pakistan has launched trade, investment, and industrial policies that are friendly to investors.
Moreover, with its resources, capabilities, strategic location, skilled labour, and enormous potential, Pakistan is a significant attraction factor for enhancing trade and supporting aspirations to achieve social and economic development.
