Aside from regional developments, the two ministers praised the positive momentum in bilateral relations and the strong fraternal ties between the two nations.

Minister Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's commitment to enhancing political, economic, and trade relations with Pakistan, highlighting the importance of boosting bilateral trade and encouraging mutual investments.

He also expressed his aspiration to coordinate closely with Pakistan during its upcoming non-permanent membership in the UN Security Council for 2025–2026, stressing the significance of collaboration within the UN and other multilateral frameworks.

He further noted Al-Azhar’s historical role in Pakistan and called for expanding this cooperation through joint programs to combat religious extremism and train imams.

Regarding the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation, Abdelatty underscored Egypt’s eagerness to strengthen coordination with Pakistan within the organization, which serves as a platform for promoting South-South cooperation, fostering economic partnerships, and enhancing trade among member states.

Additionally, Abdelatty held a meeting with Riaz Hamidullah, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Bangladesh, where he emphasized Egypt’s significant importance in enhancing trade relations with Bangladesh.

He also highlighted the commercial and investment opportunities Egypt offers, positioning it as a key investment destination in the region.

The Egyptian foreign minister also stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation between Al-Azhar and Bangladeshi authorities, given its role in promoting moderate values and combating extremist ideologies.
