Abdelatty made these remarks in a meeting with Nguema in Gabon's capital, Libreville. A senior delegation, including Egypt's candidate for the position, Khaled El-Enany, attended the meeting.
According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gabon has also issued an official statement calling on nations to support Egypt's candidate as the unified African candidate for the post.
During the meeting, El-Enany highlighted his vision for the role, emphasising his candidacy represents all African and Arab nations.
Abdelatty and Gabon's president further pledged to increase coordination between Egypt and Gabon in international organisations, particularly UNESCO.
They underlined Egypt and Gabon's rich cultural and historical heritage as a foundation for cooperation, affirming the legitimate aspirations of the African continent in UNESCO.

Egypt-Gabon ties
During the meeting, Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's commitment to enhancing its political, economic, trade, security, and development ties with Gabon.
He expressed Cairo's support and readiness to assist Gabon in ensuring a successful transition phase and reinstating its full membership in the African Union institutions.
In addition, the Egyptian FM commended the successful referendum that led to the adoption of a new constitution in Gabon.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, both sides found common ground on critical continental and international issues, particularly efforts to achieve peace in the Great Lakes, Sahel, and Horn of Africa regions.
Discussions also touched on the Middle East, with both sides emphasising the need for a ceasefire in Gaza.
For his part, Gabon's president lauded Egypt's leadership in promoting stability and development across Africa. He expressed Gabon's keenness to deepen collaboration with Egypt in various sectors.

Meeting Gabon FM
During his visit to Libreville, the Egyptian FM met with his Gabonese counterpart Régis Onanga Ndiaye to discuss bilateral cooperation.
Abdelatty underscored Egypt's commitment to fostering economic and trade relations with Gabon, highlighting the presence of representatives of major Egyptian public and private companies among the Egyptian delegation to explore investment opportunities in Gabon.
He outlined the economic sectors most vital to Gabon's economy, including infrastructure, construction, energy, pharmaceuticals, housing, and telecommunications.
Abdelatty's visit to Gabon follows his trip to Chad as part of an African tour to strengthen Egypt's relations with countries across the African continent.
