Egypt’s Intelligence Chief discusses regional developments with Libya’s Haftar
The head of the Egyptian General Intelligence Service (GIS), Hassan Rashad, met with the Commander-in-Chief of the Libyan Armed Forces, Field Marshal Khalifa Abu Al-Qasim Haftar, on Sunday at the General Command Headquarters in Benghazi, Libya, to discuss the latest regional developments.

According to the Libyan Armed Forces' statement, the discussions also included the latest domestic developments in Libya. Both parties emphasized the importance of bolstering efforts to advance the political process in Libya to achieve security and stability in the region.

The statement added that during the meeting, Rashad conveyed Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi's greetings and appreciation to Haftar, underscoring the deep historical ties that unite the brotherly peoples of Egypt and Libya.
For his part, Haftar expressed his profound respect and gratitude to El-Sisi and the Egyptian people. He commended Egypt's pivotal role in supporting stability and contributing to resolving the Libyan crisis.
