Hamas leadership delegation arrives in Cairo for ceasefire talks

A high-ranking delegation from Hamas arrived in Cairo Monday evening on an official visit to meet with Egyptian leadership to discuss the latest developments in the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the three-phase prisoner exchange deal, the movement said.

According to a statement posted on Hamas's Telegram channel, Muhammad Darwish, the chairman of the leadership council, heads the delegation.

The visit includes scheduled meetings with Egyptian officials to discuss the latest developments regarding the implementation of the ceasefire agreement and the three-phase prisoner exchange deal.

The delegation comprises the leadership council and Hamas' negotiation team members, including Khaled Meshaal, Khalil al-Hayya, Zaher Jabarin, Nizar Awadallah, Muhammad Nasser, and Ghazi Hamad.

During their visit, the delegation also met with the recently released prisoners who were freed and deported to Egypt last Saturday as part of the Gaza ceasefire agreement's first phase.

Palestinian news accounts shared clips from the meeting between the released prisoners and Hamas leading figures.
