FM Abdelatty spoke during a press conference in Beirut following meetings with President Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Designate Nawaf Salam in the Lebanese capital.
Abdelatty’s statements come a few hours after US President Donald Trump repeated his controversial comments on relocating Palestinians outside Gaza, including in Egypt, Jordan and other Arab nations.
Trump’s new comment followed prior statements by the Egyptian and Jordanian leaders, who clearly refused such a proposal.
Minister Abdelatty warned that the displacement of Gaza’s population would lead to the liquidation of the Palestinian cause.
Abdelatty’s remarks echoed a statement made on Wednesday by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, who said – in his first public comment on Trump's proposal – Egypt “cannot participate in the injustice of displacing the Palestinian people.”
El-Sisi also asserted that such displacement "can never be tolerated or allowed" due to its potential threat to Egypt's national security.
FM Abdelatty made these remarks as thousands of Egyptians, led by public figures and political delegations, gathered on Friday in front of the Egyptian Rafah on the border with Gaza to protest against all proposals to displace the Palestinians and liquidate their cause.
Lebanon Support
During a meeting with the Lebanese President, FM Abdelatty delivered a message from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, reaffirming Egypt’s full support for Aoun and extending an invitation to visit Cairo soon.
For his part, Aoun expressed gratitude for Egypt’s ongoing political and humanitarian support for Lebanon, looking forward to strengthening cooperation and enhancing bilateral relations in various fields.
Abdelatty also met with Lebanon's PM-designate, reaffirming Egypt's support for Nawaf in his new role. He praised his commitment to forming an inclusive government that does not exclude any party, fostering national consensus.
During another meeting with Lebanon's outgoing PM, Abdelatty praised Mikati's significant efforts during his tenure and his ability to navigate the country through severe challenges and manage state affairs during the prolonged presidential vacuum of over two years.
According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, the Egyptian FM also held separate meetings with his Lebanese counterpart, Abdullah Bou Habib, and the Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament, Nabih Berri, to discuss bilateral cooperation.
