Abdelatty made these remarks on Sunday during a joint press conference in Cairo with his Sudanese counterpart, Ali Yousuf Al-Sharif.

He stressed that Sudan's territorial integrity is a "red line" for Egypt.

"We reject any calls to establish parallel frameworks to the current system in Sudan and reaffirm our full support for Khartoum during this critical period," Abdelatty stated.

This comes after Sudan's paramilitary Rapid Support Forces and its allies agreed to establish a parallel government in Kenya.

Sudan, backed by regional support, soon rejected the movement.

Expressing confidence in Sudan's recovery, Abdelatty emphasized Egypt's commitment to playing a direct and crucial role in building a new Sudan.

He highlighted that the two sides agreed to form a working group to immediately develop a plan for Sudan's reconstruction. He also suggested that, given their extensive experience, Egyptian companies can significantly contribute to the plan.

Furthermore, Abdelatty and Al-Sharif rejected any external interference in Sudan's internal affairs and opposed any actions that might undermine its sovereignty. Both sides called for an end to the war in Sudan and affirmed that the resolution of the crisis was a sovereign right belonging solely to the Sudanese people.

For his part, the Sudanese foreign minister expressed deep appreciation for Egypt's efforts in supporting Sudan, including hosting Sudanese refugees and providing them with essential care.

In return, Abdelatty commended the Sudanese government's initiatives to protect civilians and its active engagement with the United Nations.

He also said Egypt praised Sudan's steps to facilitate humanitarian aid delivery, including establishing warehouses for humanitarian aid, operating aid flights, and opening border crossings.

Moreover, Abdelatty affirmed Cairo's commitment to cooperating with Sudanese institutions in this respect, in coordination with the United Nations, its specialized agencies, and international partners.

The two ministers also expressed their commitment to implementing the resolutions of the 37th session of the Arab Transport Ministers Council.

In addition, they welcomed ongoing joint efforts to advance projects in electricity and railway interconnection.

Similarly, the Sudanese delegation expressed gratitude for the work of Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development, Transport, and Trade in rehabilitating the Wadi Halfa dock, a crucial step in enhancing Sudan's river transport system and boosting trade and mobility between the two nations.

The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to safeguarding their full water rights under existing agreements and applicable international law.

They emphasized that Egypt and Sudan's water security was indivisible and called on all relevant parties to refrain from unilateral actions that could harm their water interests.

Furthermore, Abdelatty and Al-Sharif stressed their commitment to working with the Nile Basin Initiative to restore consensus and uphold the cooperative framework that benefits all basin countries.

Regarding Red Sea security, the ministers emphasized the need for closer coordination in safeguarding regional stability. They reaffirmed the importance of engaging with all Red Sea and Gulf of Aden littoral states while rejecting any threats to maritime navigation in this vital waterway.

The ministers also underscored the importance of strengthening coordination in international forums to serve mutual interests. Both parties welcomed the outcomes of the first Egypt-Sudan Business Forum, which was held in Cairo in November 2024. They emphasized the need for thorough preparations for the forum's second session to expand Egypt's role in Sudan's reconstruction efforts and boost trade and investment ties.

In addition, the foreign ministers of Egypt and Sudan reaffirmed their commitment to reinforcing and renewing the strategic partnership between their nations. They agreed on revising and updating agreements, memoranda of understanding, protocols, and executive programs between their governments to align with their shared vision for modernizing the Strategic Partnership Document and translating it into actionable programs.

Both sides also firmly rejected any attempts to displace the Palestinian people from their homeland and stressed the necessity of safeguarding Palestinian rights and preventing the liquidation of the Palestinian cause. The Sudanese side commended Egypt's role in supporting Palestinian rights.

Abdelatty and Al-Sharif also agreed on the importance of an inclusive political process in Syria that ensures its unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. They also welcomed the election of Joseph Aoun as President of Lebanon and the formation of the new Lebanese government, expressing their support for Lebanon's stability and territorial integrity.
