In a message shared on his official Facebook account on Tuesday, El-Sisi said: “I beseech God Almighty to grant him healing and well-being and to enable him to return safely to the millions of his followers.”

President El-Sisi also expressed his hope that Pope Francis would be able to continue his critical mission of “fostering the values of love, peace, and tolerance among nations.”

Pope Francis, who is battling double pneumonia, remains in critical condition for the fourth consecutive day.

However, according to the Vatican on Tuesday, his status is stable, and he has not experienced any additional respiratory crises.

The 88-year-old pope is spending his 12th night at Rome's Gemelli hospital, marking his papacy's most prolonged hospital stay.

The Vatican's latest health update read: "The clinical condition of the Holy Father remains critical but stable."

Double pneumonia, a severe infection affecting both lungs, can cause inflammation and scarring, which makes breathing difficult.

The Vatican has described the Pope's infection as "complex," involving multiple microorganisms.

Pope Francis has been in office since 2013 and has faced several health challenges over the past two years.

He is more susceptible to lung infections due to a past case of pleurisy and the removal of part of one lung during his youth.

On Monday evening, thousands gathered in St. Peter's Square to pray for his recovery.
