During Tuesday's summit, Arab states unanimously endorsed Egypt's Gaza reconstruction plan, reaffirming their unified rejection of any displacement of the Palestinian people from Gaza or the West Bank.

At a press conference following the summit, Abdelatty stated that Cairo has developed a comprehensive plan for Gaza's reconstruction and development in coordination with Palestine.

He noted that the plan is grounded in extensive studies conducted by the World Bank, the UN Development Programme (UNDP), and specialized UN agencies.

Furthermore, Abdelatty highlighted that with its plan officially approved at a "successful" summit, Egypt would launch an extensive diplomatic campaign to promote its vision for Gaza's future and secure international support.

He also pointed out that Egypt has already begun discussing its plan for reconstructing Gaza with the US, the European Union, and major international powers.

The five-year plan is estimated to cost around $53 billion. It includes social protection programmes for the Palestinians and addresses critical issues related to security and governance in Gaza.

The Egyptian reconstruction plan for the Gaza Strip contrasts sharply with US President Donald Trump's proposal for the US to cease control of Gaza and forcibly deport its Palestinian population.
