Egypt willing to share expertise to support Comoros: FM Abdelatty

Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty said Tuesday that Egypt is willing to share its expertise to support Comoros' sustainable development efforts.

This came in the phone call Abdelatty held with his Comorian counterpart, Mohamed Mbaye, to discuss enhancing bilateral relations and expanding cooperation in key sectors.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the conversation also covered coordinating positions on regional and international issues of mutual interest.

During the call, the Egyptian minister reiterated Egypt’s readiness to continue providing technical assistance, capacity-building programmes, and training to help develop Comorian national cadres.

He highlighted Egypt’s willingness to share its expertise to support Comoros' sustainable development efforts. Additionally, he emphasized the importance of boosting trade and investment between the two countries and encouraging Egyptian companies to explore investment opportunities in Comoros.

Both ministers agreed to move forward with implementing several bilateral agreements aimed at strengthening economic and developmental cooperation.

They also underscored the importance of maintaining ongoing consultations to enhance collaboration mechanisms and align their positions in regional and international forums, contributing to stability and development across the continent.

Minister Abdelatty expressed Egypt's appreciation for Comorian President Azali Assoumani’s participation in the extraordinary Arab summit held in Cairo on 4 March.

He praised Comoros' active role in supporting joint Arab initiatives and reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to strengthening fraternal ties and cooperation, particularly in priority sectors for both nations.
