During the meeting, both leaders addressed the worsening humanitarian crisis in Gaza, stressing the importance of allowing the entry of sufficient humanitarian aid to prevent a full-scale humanitarian catastrophe in the strip, the Egyptian presidency said.
El-Sisi and Sheikh Tamim also affirmed their strong support for the Arab plan for Gaza reconstruction, expressing their firm rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their homeland forcibly.
Moreover, they highlighted the need for reviving a political process that leads to establishing an independent Palestinian state based on the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The two leaders also exchanged views on many regional issues and developments of mutual interest, especially the situations in Syria, Lebanon, and Sudan.
In addition, they called for preserving these countries' unity and territorial integrity, protecting their peoples' resources, and ensuring their stability.
Meanwhile, the Qatari amir reaffirmed both nations’ joint efforts to support Palestinians in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories.
“We look forward to establishing lasting security and peace,” Sheikh Tamim wrote on his official X page.
Egypt is simultaneously working closely with Qatar to restore and uphold the Gaza ceasefire deal, brokered by Egypt, Qatar, and the US in January and unilaterally ended by Israel on 18 March.

Egyptian-Qatari ties
According to the Egyptian presidency, President El-Sisi and Amir Tamim also chaired a high-level meeting that included delegations from both countries.
During the meeting, El-Sisi stressed the importance of strengthening joint cooperation, increasing trade exchange, and enhancing Qatari investments in Egypt.
For his part, Sheikh Tamim welcomed El-Sisi’s visit, describing it as a reflection of the growing momentum in the strong bilateral ties between Egypt and Qatar.
He revealed that their discussions focused on enhancing the deeply rooted fraternal relations between Egypt and Qatar, underscoring both countries' great potential to advance and expand bilateral cooperation across various fields.
“Together, we look forward to deepening our economic ties and enriching them with increased mutual trade and investment activities to serve our countries' goals and shared interests,” the Qatari leader wrote on X.
Earlier, President El-Sisi arrived in the Amiri Diwan in Doha, where Sheikh Tamim held an official reception in his honour.
El-Sisi’s visit to Qatar began on Sunday, marking the first stop in his two-leg Gulf tour, which also includes a stop in Kuwait.
This is the Egyptian president's second visit to Qatar since assuming the presidency in 2014; his first was in September 2022.
After that, El-Sisi will travel to Kuwait, where he is scheduled to hold bilateral talks with Emir Sheikh Meshal Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
