According to a statement from Egypt’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abdelatty will take part in a session of the Egyptian-Saudi Political Follow-up and Consultation Committee, a key bilateral forum for discussing strategic cooperation and foreign policy alignment between the two Arab powers.
During the visit, Abdelatty is expected to meet several senior Saudi officials to discuss regional developments and ways to bolster collaboration, including in areas of economic and security cooperation.
The trip comes amid continued diplomatic efforts by Cairo and Riyadh to restore a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.
Egypt and Saudi Arabia have been closely coordinating to revive a stalled agreement that aims to implement a three-phase roadmap to halt the war, ensure the release of captives, and facilitate humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip.
The visit also underscores Egypt’s broader diplomatic push to engage Gulf states on regional security issues, including the Israeli military escalation in the West Bank, the humanitarian situation in Gaza, and broader instability across the Middle East.
