On Tuesday, a deadly attack in Indian-administered Kashmir targeted tourists in the town of Pahalgam, where gunmen opened fire on a group of tourists visiting the area, resulting in at least 24 fatalities.

A senior Indian police official described the assault as the deadliest attack on civilians in the region in recent years.

According to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Egypt extends its condolences and heartfelt sympathy to the friendly government and people of India in this painful tragedy, as well as to the families of the victims.

The statement added that Egypt wishes a speedy recovery to all those injured and affirms its solidarity with India in confronting all forms of violence and terrorism that aim to destabilise the country's security and stability.
