"China firmly supports Egypt, as a government and people, in defending its sovereignty and legitimate rights,” Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian told a press conference on Wednesday.
"Egypt’s sovereignty over the Suez Canal and its right to manage and operate it are indisputable," he stressed in his remarks, which were also posted on the official Facebook page of the Chinese embassy in Egypt.
Beijing “opposes all forms of bullying, whether in words or actions," the ministry spokesman further affirmed.
