The agreement was reached during Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty's current visit to the Kingdom and as part of a series of meetings with senior Moroccan officials and business leaders.
A Foreign Ministry statement said the committee will operate under the umbrella of the Higher Joint Committee, chaired by the President of Egypt and His Majesty the King of Morocco.
The committee's first session is expected to be held before the end of this year. It will meet regularly, alternating between the two countries.
The statement added that the committee will positively impact the strengthening of trade exchange, the flow of mutual investments, and the enhancement of regional trade partnerships.
The Ministry stressed that establishing the new committee reflects the political will of both brotherly nations to enhance bilateral cooperation and fulfil the directives of both countries’ leaderships to intensify efforts to advance economic, trade, and investment cooperation.
According to the statement, it also aims to activate regional institutional frameworks and maximize their potential benefits.
During his visit to Morocco, FM Abdelatty also visited the Egyptian Cultural Centre in Rabat, where he toured the centre’s library, lecture and seminar hall, and museum.
Abdelatty Minister emphasized Egypt’s commitment to strengthening cultural ties with Morocco, given the deep historical relations between the two nations..
He highlighted the key role played by the Cultural Centre in fostering cultural exchange and enhancing academic cooperation.
