According to the Egyptian foreign ministry, Abdelatty further affirmed Egypt’s support for the internationally recognized government in Yemen.
Additionally, the Egyptian FM reiterated Cairo’s support for resuming the Yemeni-Yemeni dialogue to reach a political settlement to the Yemeni crisis, end the humanitarian crisis, and fulfil the aspirations of its people.
Abdelatty also praised the Omani mediation that led to the ceasefire agreement in Yemen between the US and Houthis, expressing hope that it would restore navigation in the Red Sea to normal levels.
During the meeting, the UN envoy briefed the Egyptian FM on the outcomes of his recent communications with Yemeni and regional parties to resume the political process in Yemen.
The Egyptian FM is in the Jordanian capital to attend the Arab-Islamic ministerial committee meeting in Gaza.
