According to a statement by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty also emphasised Egypt's aspiration to work jointly with China to elevate bilateral ties in the coming period.
He also expressed Egypt's pride in marking ten years since the presidents of Egypt and China launched the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership in December 2014.
Furthermore, the Egyptian FM appreciated China's contributions to key infrastructure projects in Egypt, including the Financial and Business District in the New Administrative Capital and the towers in New Alamein City, read the statement. He also lauded the development of the Egypt-China Economic Zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone).
Moreover, the statement continued, Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt's eagerness to attract more Chinese investments. He welcomed broader cooperation with Chinese firms.
The Egyptian FM also outlined available investment opportunities in Egypt and stressed the need to strengthen the private sector's role in economic development.
Regional discussions
The statement added that Abdelatty updated the Chinese envoy on Cairo's mediation efforts, alongside the United States and Qatar, to reach a permanent ceasefire in Gaza.
He stressed the vital importance of accelerating the urgent delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip to ease the severity of the humanitarian crisis that the Palestinian people endure.
Approximately 2 million residents of Gaza are now almost entirely dependent on international aid after Israel imposed a blockade on the entry of supplies on 2 March. Limited humanitarian assistance resumed only late last month following international pressure and warnings of an impending famine.
On Sunday, Doctors Without Borders (MSF) stated that Israel is weaponizing the distribution of aid in Gaza to displace Palestinians by force. It described Israel's actions as part of a larger campaign of ethnic cleansing.
The statement went on to say that the Egyptian FM also reaffirmed Egypt's firm rejection of any attempts to displace Palestinians from their land, read the ministry's statement.
He praised China's balanced position on the Palestinian cause, and he reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to strengthening coordination with China to support the Palestinian people's legitimate rights, especially the right to establish an independent Palestinian state along the 4 June 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
