In his call with Witkoff, Abdelatty raised concerns about the fallout from the recent military confrontation between Israel and Iran, warning that continued escalation threatens regional stability.
He called for de-escalation and renewed diplomatic efforts, including talks between the US and Iran over the nuclear issue.
In a separate call with Boulos, Abdelatty discussed the situations in Sudan, Libya, and the African Great Lakes region.
Both sides agreed that military approaches have failed to resolve these conflicts and said political solutions, based on international law, are necessary.
They also discussed the role of national institutions and the need to respect the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the countries involved.
