Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi
El-Sisi conveyed his sincere wishes to the Danish king, prime minister, government, and people.
Egypt expressed full confidence in Denmark's ability to undertake this significant responsibility in a spirit of cooperation and accountability.
Cairo aspires for Denmark's presidency to contribute to "promoting peace, stability, justice, and growth across the European continent and globally,” El-Sisi wrote on Facebook on Thursday.
The president also affirmed Egypt's keenness to closely coordinate with Denmark during its EU presidency to advance the interests of the African continent and developing countries.
He also expressed hope that this cooperation would strengthen Europe's response to Middle East issues, fostering equitable and inclusive partnerships.
On Tuesday, Denmark officially took over the six-month rotating presidency of the EU Council for the eighth time.
In December 2024, El-Sisi made the first visit by an Egyptian president to Denmark, where he met King Frederik X in Copenhagen, affirming that this visit would further strengthen bilateral relations at all levels.
