Abdelatty made his remarks during a phone call with his Syrian counterpart, Asaad Al-Shibani, on Wednesday.
During the call, he emphasized that this initiative should aim to preserve and bolster Syria's unity and stability, as well as its diverse population, by adopting an inclusive approach that encompasses all Syrian national forces.
Minister Abdelatty also conveyed Egypt's "complete rejection of the repeated Israeli violations of Syria's sovereignty and any infringement on the unity and integrity of Syrian territory," a statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.
For his part, Al-Shibani provided an overview of the current political, economic, and security landscape within Syria.
He also shared his assessments regarding the anticipated effects of the impending lifting of US sanctions on Syria.
Both foreign ministers discussed joint efforts to combat terrorism, with FM Abdelatty stressing Syria's crucial role as a "source of stability in the region."
