Egypt FM, Arab counterparts discuss securing Gaza ceasefire, humanitarian aid delivery

Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty discussed with several Arab counterparts the situation in the Gaza Strip and Egypt’s ongoing efforts alongside Qatar and the United States to secure a ceasefire, facilitate the release of captives and detainees, prevent further bloodshed among Palestinians, and ensure the rapid delivery of humanitarian aid.

This came during separate phone calls between FM Abdelatty and several Arab counterparts.

In a statement, the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs said Abdelatty held discussions with the foreign ministers of Qatar, Jordan, Bahrain, Algeria, Oman, Kuwait, and Morocco on Wednesday and Thursday.

During the calls, the ministers exchanged views on the latest developments in the Gaza Strip.

FM Abdelatty also briefed his counterparts on Egypt’s preparations to host the international conference on the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza.

The conference, which will be organized in partnership with the Palestinian government and the United Nations, will take place once a ceasefire agreement is reached between Israel and Hamas.

Moreover, they discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, emphasizing a shared commitment to advancing a joint Arab action amid the sensitive and complex circumstances currently facing the region.
