In a statement on Saturday, the foreign ministry said the deal would serve the interests of both nations and the wider region, and boost prospects for development and prosperity.
Azerbaijani and Armenian leaders signed the accord on Friday at the White House, hosted by US President Donald Trump, in a bid to end decades of conflict.
Egypt praised Trump’s mediation efforts and expressed hope that “constructive US diplomatic engagement” would also extend to the Middle East, helping to promote regional peace and stability.
Cairo reaffirmed its support for resolving disputes through peaceful, diplomatic means, upholding the principles of good neighbourliness, and prioritizing dialogue to advance global peace and security.
