Social Solidarity Minister Maya Morsy and Higher Education and Scientific Research Minister Ayman Ashour attended the meeting.

According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty underscored the urgent need to mobilise international support for the Arab plan to rebuild Gaza.

He stressed that early recovery, infrastructure reconstruction, and basic services restoration constitute vital steps toward rebuilding and developing the Strip.

The two sides reviewed ongoing preparations for the upcoming Cairo Conference on Early Recovery and Reconstruction, which is expected to convene once a ceasefire is reached.

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian people in securing their legitimate rights and establishing an independent state.

He briefed Mustafa on the latest developments in Egypt’s mediation efforts to achieve a ceasefire, reiterating Cairo’s firm opposition to any attempt to displace Palestinians from their land.

Abdelatty also condemned Israel’s policy of starvation and blockade in Gaza and its settlement expansion, attacks, and systematic violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

Furthermore, he highlighted the importance of a temporary committee to manage Gaza until the Palestinian Authority (PA) can fully return to the Strip.

Egypt, Abdelatty affirmed, was ready to support Palestinian efforts to restore security by training police units to fill the security vacuum in Gaza.

For her part, Minister of Social Solidarity Maya Morsy reviewed Egypt’s humanitarian efforts in support of Gaza. She noted that the Egyptian Red Crescent has facilitated the entry of tens of thousands of aid trucks through the Rafah crossing, carrying hundreds of thousands of tons of relief supplies. Morsy also highlighted that Egypt dispatched dozens of ambulances to Gaza and received thousands of wounded and sick Palestinians to receive medical treatment at Egyptian hospitals.

On the other hand, Minister of Higher Education Ayman Ashour outlined the executive plan and programme documents for Gaza’s reconstruction. He stressed the importance of ensuring the plan’s effectiveness and sustainability. Ashour also emphasised that the programme covers infrastructure, social protection, economic development, and good governance. He confirmed ongoing coordination with Palestinian counterparts to finalise the plan.

For his part, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa expressed appreciation for Egypt’s leading role in supporting the Palestinian cause and its significant humanitarian efforts in Gaza. He also praised Egypt’s early recovery and reconstruction initiatives, including its preparation of the Arab plan for rebuilding the Strip.
