Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi
The visit, which follows an invitation from the crown prince, aims to tackle the latest regional developments and strengthen bilateral ties, according to a statement from the Egyptian presidency.
The talks are scheduled to take place in the city of Neom and will focus on the latest developments in the region, foremost among them the war in the Gaza Strip.
The agenda also includes other key issues, including the situation in Lebanon, Syria, Sudan, Libya, and Yemen, as well as the security of the Red Sea, the statement pointed out.
El-Sisi and Bin Salman will also address ways of supporting and strengthening the strategic partnership between Cairo and Riyadh to achieve common interests on political, economic, and developmental levels.
The statement further noted that the visit underscores historic ties between both nations and the leaders’ commitment to strengthening cooperation on regional and international issues.
President El-Sisi’s last visit to Saudi Arabia was in February, when he attended an informal Arab leaders’ meeting in Riyadh on the war in Gaza.
