A statement released on Tuesday by the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called the raid a dangerous escalation of the occupation forces' ongoing actions in the West Bank.
The statement stressed that the aggressive and extremist policies of the Israeli government are the main factor undermining regional stability, underlining its rejection and obstruction of all prospects for regional peace.
“Egypt once again warns of the grave consequences of the arrogance that dominates Israel’s policies and its pursuit to expand the scope of the conflict,” the statement read.
Cairo further reiterated its call upon the international community to take the necessary measures to oblige Israel to respect international law and international humanitarian law, and to put an end to its blatant violations in the occupied Palestinian territories.
At least 24 Palestinians were injured during an Israeli military raid in the centres of Ramallah and al-Bireh in the occupied West Bank, Palestinian news agency (WAFA) reported.
According to local sources, Israeli forces also stormed a money exchange shop in central Ramallah and al-Bireh, confiscated its contents, and detained at least three individuals.
Additionally, Israeli troops took positions on the rooftops of several buildings and forcibly dispersed participants who were marking the National Day for the Recovery of the Bodies of Slain Palestinians held by Israeli authorities at the Baladna Centre in al-Bireh, WAFA said.
Israeli violence across the West Bank—under occupation since 1967—has sharply escalated amid Israel’s brutal aggression on Gaza, which began in October 2023. Since then, nearly 1,000 Palestinians have been killed and nearly 7,000 injured by Israeli forces or settlers.
Egypt has consistently condemned Israel’s escalations, violations, and aggressive practices in the West Bank, stressing the urgency of halting violence, safeguarding lives, ending settlement expansion, and ensuring full respect for Palestinian rights under international law.
