The agreements included a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on social insurance and pensions, an MoU on agricultural cooperation and food security, and a MoU for establishing a political consultation mechanism between the two countries’ foreign ministries.

The session was chaired by Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty and visiting Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani.

Several other Egyptian and Qatari ministers and officials also attended the session.

In his opening remarks, FM Abdelatty stated that the convening of the sixth session reflects the strong political will of both leaderships to advance relations.

He emphasized the importance of translating the current momentum in relations into tangible projects and investments.

In this respect, he highlighted the comprehensive reforms that Egypt has implemented to streamline investment procedures, modernize legislation, and offer tax and customs incentives.

He also affirmed Egypt’s readiness to welcome an influx of Qatari investments in key sectors, including transportation, logistics, food security, industry, renewable energy, tourism, and urban development.

Abdelatty further encouraged Qatari participation in the upcoming Egypt-Gulf Investment Forum in Cairo and suggested establishing an Egyptian-Qatari Business Council to further expand joint ventures.

The session also addressed other pressing regional issues, particularly the situation in Gaza.

Both sides praised the Egyptian-Qatari mediation efforts aimed at reaching a ceasefire in Gaza and facilitating humanitarian aid entry, expressing their rejection of any forced displacement of Palestinians.

They discussed the latest ceasefire proposal, which suggests the release of captives and prisoners, a halt to the Israeli assaults, and the urgent entry of humanitarian aid to Gaza.

Furthermore, Egypt and Qatar strongly condemned Israel’s ongoing military escalation against Palestinians, its policy of starvation, and the expansion of settlement activity in the West Bank.

They warned that such violations of international law deepen the humanitarian catastrophe and threaten regional peace and stability.

The meeting also touched on the latest developments in Sudan, Yemen, Syria, Libya, Lebanon, the Horn of Africa, and the Red Sea, as well as Iran’s nuclear programme.

FM Abdelatty emphasized the importance of joint efforts to safeguard Arab unity and sovereignty, confront external interference, and enhance regional security.
