The summit, held in the northern city of Tianjin from 31 August to 1 September, will bring together heads of state and government under the theme Upholding the Shanghai Spirit: SCO on the Move, according to the cabinet.

Madbouly will deliver Egypt’s address and hold high-level talks with senior officials and executives from leading Chinese firms.

The SCO was founded in 2001 by China, Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan, and has since expanded into a regional bloc focused on political, economic, and security cooperation.
