According to the Egyptian Foreign Ministry, Abdelatty began the meeting by extending Egypt’s condolences to Sudan’s leadership, government, and people over the recent landslide victims in Darfur.
He reaffirmed Egypt’s full support for Sudan, stressing Cairo’s active role in regional and international initiatives aimed at resolving the Sudanese crisis.
He also emphasised that Egypt supports a comprehensive, Sudanese-owned political solution that leads to a ceasefire, inclusive dialogue, and an end to the suffering of the Sudanese people.
Furthermore, the Egyptian FM reiterated Egypt’s rejection of any attempts to undermine Sudan’s unity, sovereignty, or national institutions.
He outlined the facilities Egypt provides to support the voluntary return of Sudanese citizens.
In addition, Abdelatty welcomed plans to hold the second Egypt-Sudan Business Forum later this year, as well as the next meeting of the joint trade committee in Cairo.
The two sides also reviewed joint projects to rehabilitate Sudan’s infrastructure, particularly in electricity, water, health, and education.
