According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' statement, the resolution was adopted during the 164th regular session of the Arab League Council, held in Cairo on Thursday.
The ministry said this move reflects collective Arab will and consensus on shaping a guiding framework for regional security and cooperation, grounded in international law and responsive to the critical challenges facing the region.
According to the statement, Egypt affirmed that no party should be allowed to dominate the region or impose unilateral security arrangements that undermine its safety and stability.
The ministry further stressed that regional security can only be achieved through strict adherence to the governing principles enshrined in the resolution.
It highlighted key principles, namely respect for state sovereignty and territorial integrity, non-interference in internal affairs, and refraining from the use of military force outside the framework of international legitimacy.
Moreover, the statement added that, according to Cairo, the resolution enshrines the inherent right of Arab states to define governing principles for regional arrangements and clearly asserts that Arab states have the right to present and enforce their vision for a security and cooperation system.
This vision, the statement continued, should be based on mutual respect, good neighbourliness, compliance with international law, and peaceful settlement of disputes, with ending the occupation as the real gateway to a just and sustainable peace.
Egypt, the statement noted, stressed that the adoption of this resolution reflects the Arab leadership's responsible role in formulating clear rules to strengthen security and cooperation. It also sends a message that stability in the region will only be achieved through respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity.
Furthermore, according to the statement, Egypt reaffirmed its commitment to working with all Arab states and international partners to turn the resolution into practical steps that enhance regional security and restore momentum to a just and comprehensive settlement of the Palestinian cause.
The statement also underlined Egypt's ongoing pressures for decisive stances to stop Israeli violations. It further underscored that the deadlocked settlement process between the Palestinians and Israelis significantly undermines stability, fueling extremism, hatred, and violence regionally and globally.
