Arab League Spokesman Jamal Rushdi, speaking on behalf of the Secretary-General, described the assault as a blatant violation and an unacceptable infringement on Qatar’s sovereignty.
He emphasized that Qatar has played a leading role since the outset of the Gaza war, alongside Egypt and the United States, in mediation efforts to halt hostilities, achieve a ceasefire, and prevent the continuation of what he described as Israel’s genocidal war in Gaza.
Rushdi reaffirmed the Arab League’s full solidarity with Qatar in the face of the aggression, stressing support for any measures the Gulf state may undertake to safeguard its sovereignty and protect its people.
He further underscored that Israel’s actions represent a dangerous departure from international law and established norms, carrying all the hallmarks of war crimes. Rushdi held Israel fully responsible for the consequences of what he termed “reckless and criminal behavior,” warning that the state must bear accountability under international law.
