Egyptian President Abdel-Fattah El-Sisi and Jordan’s King Abdullah II strongly condemned and rejected the Israeli attack on Palestinian leaders in the Qatari capital of Doha on Tuesday, describing it as a blatant violation of the sovereignty of a fellow Arab state and a flagrant breach of international law and the UN Charter.

According to the Egyptian Presidency, both leaders reaffirmed in a phone call the need to respect the sovereignty of Arab states, underscoring that Egypt and Jordan stand united against any violations that threaten their security and stability.

The Egyptian Presidency noted that the two leaders stressed the gravity of Israel’s unjustified escalation, particularly as Qatar continues to play a vital role in mediation efforts aimed at securing a ceasefire in Gaza and alleviating the humanitarian crisis caused by Israel’s nearly two-year-long war on the strip.

In this context, they reaffirmed their full solidarity with Qatar, voicing support for its stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity in the face of what they termed an unacceptable act of aggression.

The call also reflected a shared understanding between President El-Sisi and King Abdullah II on the importance of maintaining close coordination between Egypt and Jordan, given the grave risks posed by Israel’s escalation to regional stability.

Both leaders emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation and for halting all provocative actions that only serve to deepen the Middle East crisis.
